Zombie Girl: The Movie, a documentary about the filmmaking efforts of a 12-year old girl who loves zombies, has just been released on DVD today.  Directed by Aaron Marshall, Erik Mauck and Justin Johnson, Zombie Girl: The Movie profiles Emily Hagins as she makes her first feature length film - Pathogen.

With the help of her mother as agent, crew, and biggest fan, Emily launches an epic adventure in genre filmmaking, battling everything from budget shortfalls to self-doubt, all while coming of age as a teenager.

Emily has the vision and her mom has the driver’s license. Together, their journey is an enlightening look at a growing world of young moviemakers and the bloodiest mother/daughter story you’ve ever seen. - ZombieGirlTheMovie.com

Hagins began writing her feature in 2004 and had it completed by 2006, when it premiered at the Alamo Drafthouse.

Pathogen, in its entirety, is included as a bonus feature on the DVD.
