Welcome Back, Bub

Did you catch Bub's cameo in The Walking Dead yesterday?

Last night's episode, "Us", gave a shout out to the Day of the Dead's favorite zombie with a lookalike of Bub during the train tunnel sequence.

What's the connection (besides both projects featuring zombies)?

In addition to serving as Tom Savini's assistant on Day of The Dead, The Walking Dead's Greg Nicotero also played 'Johnson' in the film.

New On Blu: Day of the Dead (Collector's Edition)

New this week from Scream Factory is  DAY OF THE DEAD (Collector's Edition), written and directed by George Romero and starring Lori Cardille, Joseph Pilato, Terry Alexander, Richard Liberty, and Sherman Howard.

"In this third and final shocker in the continuing saga of the undead from writer/director George A. Romero (Dawn of the Dead, Night of the Living Dead, Diary Of The Dead, Survival Of The Dead), a small group of scientists and soldiers have taken refuge in an underground missile silo where they struggle to control the flesh-eating horror that walks the earth above. But will the final battle for the future of the human race be fought among the living or have they forever unleashed the hunger of the dead? Lori Cardille, Joe Pilato, Richard Liberty and Howard Sherman star in this controversial classic with groundbreaking gore effects by Tom Savini."

Special features include a new high-definition transfer; an audio commentary with George Romero, Tom  Savini, Lori Cardille and production designer Cletus Anderson;  the new documentary The World's End: The Legacy of Day of the Dead, photo galleries, theatrical trailers; TV spots; and behind-the-scenes footage take from Tom Savini's archives.

Scream Factory's DAY OF THE DEAD (Collector's Edition) is available on Blu-ray, DVD, and iTunes.
