Martin Scorsese's RAGING ZOMBIES

Well, that's one film title we'll never see.

It turns out that Scorsese is more of a vampire man than a zombiephile.  In their latest issue, he revealed to GQ that he preferred vampires because you could at least have a conversation with them.  Can't argue with that.

"I mean the undead thing... Zombies, what are you going to do with them? Just keep chopping them up, shooting at them, shooting at them. It's a whole other thing that apparently means a great deal to our culture and our society. There are many, many books written about it and many movies. I saw one in London when I was doing Hugo. I saw one late at night one weekend. It was called Colin, by a young filmmaker [Marc Price]. He shot it, I think, digitally by himself, edited it himself. It was savage. It had an energy that took the zombie idea to another level. Really interesting filmmaking. Disturbing."

FREE: The Extinction Parade: An Original Zombie Story By Max Brooks

Max Brooks, the bestselling author of World War Z and The Zombie Survival Guide, has just released a new short story via The Daily Beast site - The Extinction Parade. This time around, Brooks takes a look at the zombie apocalypse as seen through the eyes of vampires.

I have heard it said that the more memories one acquires, the less room the mind has for conscious thought. I cannot speak for others, but at my age, after the remembrance of so many lifetimes crammed into my ancient skull, I do suffer from occasional lapses of 'preoccupation'. It was one of those lapses, lost the recent past, and unconsciously licking my lips, that I descended from my omniscient perch, rounded the church's corner and practically collided with one of them. It was a man, or had been one recently. The right side of his body was still smooth and supple. The left side had been badly charred. Dark, viscous fluid oozed from numerous, steaming wounds.
