Inlogic Software announces Zombie Chase in this press release (via Games Press).
Zombie Chase - save your town against the zombie attack!
The wind flies around the houses, not a living creature there, is it a dead town? No, for the time being, but it is only a question of time! Crowds of the non-dead plunder the land, and with the typical dramatic effect it is necessary to admit that you are the last and the only chance how to turn away complete destruction. Accept this opportunity offered by the Inlogic Software and become the hero of the Wild West.
Banská Bystrica, 21st January 2013: No one knows now how and why it started, the point is it is here and there is no time for cry and sorrow. Most people would run away, but you are not the most, you are a real cowboy and have your pride telling you that you must fight. Whole 32 levels are waiting for you; they are full of zombies, weapons, and bloody action.
As for the environment, you are definitely not going to suffer from the stereotype; you are going to fight day and night. Get all the weapons and learn how to use them, the offered arsenal is rather varied and destructive. On each level you will have a different task, from a simple survival of the attack by a group of zombies, through the search and protection of the well, survival during certain period of time, or killing certain amount of attackers by one weapon. So, do you really think a cactus is only for decoration?
"I adore zombie survival games and I am glad that particularly our company can boast such a successful game.“ Marek Jakab, sales manager in the Inlogic Software, comments the game release and adds: "I can definitely say the game is extremely dynamic and also properly juicy in certain way.“

Deep Silver's idea to include a bikini-clad headless, armless and legless zombie torso statuette in their Zombie Bait collectors edition of Dead Island Riptide for Europe and Asutralia seems to have only succeeded in catching controversy as public sentiment has come down decidely against the idea
Deep Silver has just released the following message via their twitter account:
"A statement on the Zombie Bait Edition:
We deeply apologize for any offense caused by the Dead Island Riptide “Zombie Bait Edition”, the collector’s edition announced for Europe and Australia. Like many gaming companies, Deep Silver has many offices in different countries, which is why sometimes different versions of Collector’s Editions come into being for North America, Europe, Australia, and Asia.
For the limited run of the Zombie Bait Edition for Europe and Australia, a decision was made to include a gruesome statue of a zombie torso, which was cut up like many of our fans had done to the undead enemies in the original Dead Island.
We sincerely regret this choice. We are collecting feedback continuously from the Dead Island community, as well as the international gaming community at large, for ongoing internal meetings with Deep Silver's entire international team today. For now, we want to reiterate to the community, fans and industry how deeply sorry we are, and that we are committed to making sure this will never happen again."
Considering that Dead Island is a horror videogame centered around zombies attacking and tearing apart vacationers on a tropical island, it is not such a stretch to understand how they came up with the idea to use a bathing suit clad victim for the collectors statuette. Hard to believe there was any malicious intent - just a promotion that failed to anticipate an unforeseeable social media snitfit. While Deep Silver has no choice but to address the negative PR in a contrite manner, it really seems like much ado about nothing when taking the genre and storyline into context.
Dead Island Riptide will be released on April 23rd and can be pre-ordered now for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

The new zombie game from AMC and Activision, The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct, has finally gotten an official release date - March 26th in North America and March 29th in Europe.
"The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct is a first-person action survival game that brings to life the authentic, heart-stopping horrors of the AMC Emmy® award-winning TV series The Walking Dead. In the game, players assume the role of the crossbow-wielding survivor Daryl Dixon (voiced by Norman Reedus from AMC's hit TV series) alongside his brother Merle (voiced by costar Michael Rooker). Together, they embark on a haunting, unforgiving quest across the Georgia countryside.
Players will need to tread carefully throughout this grim adventure, as resources are scarce and hope even scarcer. From scrounging for weapons, food and water to surviving encounters with the undead and the living, gamers will have to use their wits to stay alive in this terrifying, post-apocalyptic world. Do you risk using stealth to go in close for a quiet kill, attack from a distance and hazard attracting a swarm of walkers, or avoid the battle and live to fight another day? Helping survivors can bring benefits -- but can you afford to trust everyone you meet? Every path, every action, every choice has a consequence. At the end of the world, no place is truly safe."

Attention UK brides and grooms: Want your marriage to be dead before it even starts?
Video game maker Deep Silver will give you the chance to kill your wedding dream as you walk down the aisle in the Dead Island Riptide Zombie Wedding Sweepstakes!
From their press release:
Deep Silver today announced the search for a bride and groom for a zombie-themed wedding, which will become the centerpiece of the UK launch celebrations for the new Dead Island Riptide videogame, released later this year.
The search for two engaged Dead Island superfans who will be zombified for a Dead Island twist on a traditional beach wedding ceremony takes in every cemetery, grave and crypt the length and breadth of the UK. In return for becoming the official Dead Island Riptide zombie bride and groom, Deep Silver will host a Dead Island Riptide-themed zombie wedding ceremony and send the winning undead couple on a luxury Caribbean honeymoon.
Applicants are encouraged to record a short video message to YouTube explaining why they are the ideal undead candidates for the ceremony, and to share the link via the official Dead Island Riptide Zombie Wedding page on Facebook (www.facebook.com/DeadIslandRiptideZombieWeddingUK).
A panel from Deep Silver will then review all applications and contact a shortlist of candidates to see if they have what it takes for the ultimate undead accolade. The closing date for applications is appropriately Valentine’s Day, 14th February 2013, with the winning couple being announced at the beginning of March.
Amy Namihas, Head of Marketing & Public Relations, Deep Silver UK, said: “For the launch celebrations of Dead Island Riptide we wanted to do something different, and a zombie wedding with all the trappings certainly fits the bill and has not been done on this scale before. We’re excited to see the application videos from our prospective undead bride and groom and look forward to hosting the wedding of the fear.”
Gamers will be able to take on the zombie hordes once again when Dead Island Riptide is published by Deep Silver in UK on 26 April 2013 for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and for Windows PC.
